Wait
Pause the workflow for a specified amount of time
Ce contenu n’est pas encore disponible dans votre langue.
Pause the workflow for a set time, then carry on with the same data.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Wait holds the run for Amount × Unit (the unit is Seconds unless you change it), then passes the data it received straight through, unchanged.
It pauses once for everything that arrives, not once per item. Ten items reaching a 5-second Wait leave together after 5 seconds. To pause between items, put Wait inside a Loop or after Split in Batches.
How it waits depends on the length:
- Under 1 minute: a simple timer, precise to the millisecond. Closing the tab cancels it.
- 1 minute or more, in the browser extension: a durable wait. The run is saved and resumes at the deadline, even if you close the tab or restart the browser. It resumes within about a minute of the deadline and can last up to 30 days. Meanwhile the run shows as waiting in the Executions pane.
- In the web app, every wait uses the simple timer, so a long wait does not survive a closed tab.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- Space out requests so a service does not rate-limit you.
- Give a page or an external job time to finish before the next step.
- Send a follow-up later: “wait 2 days, then remind me”.
To wait until something is actually ready rather than for a fixed time, use Poll Until or Wait For Element.
Inputs and settings
Section titled “Inputs and settings”| Réglage | Type | Ce que cela fait |
|---|---|---|
| Amount (obligatoire) | Number | How long to wait. Waits of a minute or more are durable — the run survives a closed tab and resumes at the deadline (up to 30 days). Shorter waits run in-memory. |
| Unit (obligatoire) | Choice | The unit of time to wait. Options: Milliseconds, Seconds, Minutes, Hours. Par défaut : Seconds |
Waits longer than 30 days are cut to 30 days.
Outputs
Section titled “Outputs”-
Output
The data that came in goes out unchanged.
Dependencies and credentials
Section titled “Dependencies and credentials”None. This node needs no connection and has no slots for other nodes.
Example workflow
Section titled “Example workflow”- A Context Menu trigger on a link.
- Wait 2 Hours.
- A Browser Notification reminds you to read the link.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”- A long wait never finished. It ran in the web app, or was shorter than a minute, and the tab was closed. Run long waits from the extension.
- The run resumed a little late. Durable waits resume within about a minute of the deadline. For precise short delays, keep the wait under a minute.
- All items arrived at once after the wait. That is expected: Wait pauses once for the whole input. Use a Loop for per-item pauses.
Related nodes
Section titled “Related nodes”- Wait For Approval: pause until a person approves or rejects.
- Poll Until: check a URL on an interval until it reports done.
- Wait For Element: wait for something to appear on a page.
- Loop: repeat steps, with a Wait inside for per-item pauses.
